Worst Case Scenario?

Watching Bear Grylls weather the Siberian tundra, it got me thinking about those cool little books I would see around the cash register at Borders. when they first came out, I thought they were cute and good gag gifts for people, but now I find myself wanting them. Has anyone actually gotten out of precarious situations with the advise given in these books?
